the founder of the firm and the following owners

The company was founded in 1896 in Trest, Czech Republic (Europe) by Josef Podzimek, the urban master-builder and sworn expert appraiser. The name of the company was changed several times until the final "Josef Podzimek & Son".

Big fire in 1922 completely destroyed Podzimek’s sawmill, the workshop and as well their brickyard factory. However it was soon rebuilt and growing in prosperity until the nationalization in 1948.

Privatization process was started right after the political and economical liberalization in former Czechoslovakia in 1989. The company was completely restituted to the original owner from 1945 Josef Podzimek in 1993.
